Dr. Aritra Banerjee is an assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at South Dakota State University in Brookings. He received his Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2017. His research interests include bioinspired geotechnics, impacts of climate change, unsaturated and expansive soils and numerical modeling of complex geotechnical systems. His research interests are aligned with the current emphasis on studying the effects of climate change to develop resilient civil infrastructures, such as dams, levees, embankments and pavements.
